The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Garage Door Technician to take ownership of a residential service and installation route.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation: Assemble and install premium garage door systems, including tracks, torsion springs, cables, and door panels.
- Service & Repair: Diagnose mechanical issues, replace broken hardware, and perform routine maintenance and safety inspections to ensure optimal performance.
- Opener Systems: Install and program automated garage door openers (LiftMaster, Raynor), troubleshoot electrical issues, and integrate smart home/WiFi features.
- Professionalism: Communicate effectively with homeowners. Clearly present repair options (Good/Better/Best), capture signatures, and turn in clean, organized paperwork to our dispatch team.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with mechanical equipment, construction, or a related trades field (Previous garage door experience is highly preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills with other staff and customers.
- Ability to safely lift heavy materials and work in various Minnesota weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
